As Time Goes By (Lawrence's Version)

Lawrence…The early years…….

What can I say, I had some of my best moments back then, I still cherish most. I look back at those days and feel like I want to go back there and see what has happened to my past friends, maybe that’s just me I don’t know, those were weird days.

It all started when I went to a playschool, it was back in a fabled place called Beer (what a name), where some little bugger split my lip by hitting me in the face, that’s the last memory of that area so lets move on.

We then moved to a place called Chard, small, secluded and albeit sodding boring, apart from a cinema club on Wednesdays when they either played Beethoven or snow white, and that isn’t an exaggeration. The school I went to there was called Manor court and I had many a friend but four that stick out in my mind indefinitely, Jamie, James (not Jameson as you must have guessed by now), Timmy, and Daniel. Jamie, I remember as he instigated a massive bundle in reception and I joined in, because of this all five of us “naughty boys” as the teacher called us, had to go and sit in the corner. This seemed like a life sentence but was only for a short period of 30 minutes, but timed seem to go past a lot slower then. That teacher never liked me, never. Jamie and me were friends until I left that school; until I recently found out he got the teacher to speak to my mum about me talking to him too much in class, I never did talk during class, back then I was a model pupil, now I am like all others of my age. James was always a good friend, he was kind, and always treated me well. Him and Jamie were always best friends and still may be to my knowledge. Timmy was one of my best friends, he was great fun, kind, and had a cool older brother, I don’t remember his name. Daniel was my other best friend, he however was often ill, this hindered are friendship otherwise we would still be friends now. Daniel and Timmy didn’t like each other much, I remember once we had to pick someone to sit with at lunch and we had to sit next to that person for the rest of the week. I chose to sit next to Daniel, as you can guess Timmy was not pleased. The only other person I remember was Brian who owned a mega drive, the Xbox of the time, we were friends and he was grumpy and annoying, never smiled unlike me. The girls of our school were beauties, my first girlfriend was Jordana, later name “Jordana the sultana” as people realised she wasn’t very nice. I then went out with a girl called Cassi, now she was great, adored by all and wanted by all 7 year olds of the time, unfortunately that relationship was cut short as I had to move to a place called Copdock on the other side of Ipswich.

When I first moved to Copdock I got a Christmas card from Timmy, the feeling I had when opening the card was great anticipation, I opened and In the card it said “To Lawrence, I hope you lick your new school, From, Timmy”. This was the last I ever heard of this school and it was a sad moment in my life.

There were only 50 pupils at this school. They tried to teach us French at the age of 7 and there were no nice teachers, I am still friends with 1 person from that school, I had 1 girlfriend in the year above me, we were young so not really a girlfriend to be honest. That’s all I can say about this school, as it was boring.

If you have read Jameson’s article you will know I went to Gorseland after Copdock primary school, James has said everything that happened there and it is the same apart from the beginning but that is boring, much like the rest of this babble so I will not bore you with that.

To come to a close, I am now at Kesgrave high school and GCSE’s are approaching, the time here has passed all to soon and I will have mixed feelings of sadness and jubilation, the time as Kesgrave has had its good and bad moments but I will not to into them as other people have not. If you have bothered to read down this far you must be very bored, poor you, go get a curry is my advice.

Lawrence,
Livin’ it large although I am short
