McDonalds
The premiere choice for most people, it's by far the most popular fast-food resturant in the world, present in almost every country, it's established a steady monopoly in it's market, and is only really challenged slightly by Burger King.

Everyone at sometime has eaten a McDonalds, it's almost a certainty (excluding vegetarians, the dead and you, if you haven't). It's not the best quality food ever, but it's good value and you don't get many complaints, a good balance which has made it very successful. I would say it's the customer loyalty, which keeps people coming back to McDonalds, McDonalds eaters hate Burger King eaters with a fiery wrath and if the two every come together, planets will collide.

Burger King
The second and final competitor for 'Best Burger' outlet is the King, rather ironic seeing as McDonalds is at the top. They're more like the Prince's Shoe Polisher than the King, and they know it.

The burgers here are flame grilled, this is an obvious attempt to offer something that McDonalds don't. However by doing this they are alienating those who don't like their burger's 'well done'.. it's not a majority taste by any means. They don't really have anything to offer that McDonalds don't offer more successfully, but if you were starving and it was a BK or nothing, you would probably go for the BK.

KFC
Kentucky Fried Chicken. It is as it suggests all Chicken, and i feel this definately works to their advantage. Rather than challenge MC Donald and family to the Burger championship they have instead won over the chicken market rather easily. With the unique flavour of Kentucky, and overall quality of food it's no wonder KFC is the family meal everyone can enjoy.

If you like chicken, you'll love KFC, perhaps even more than McDonalds, unless you like beef that is.

Others
You have your Wimpy and their cardboard burgers, you have Little Chef, and their fattening whatevers, but overall the rest is even worse than Burger King, pretty shit, so not worth mentioning.
