On the 30th of March 2002, we all heard the 'sad' news that the Queen Mother had passed away in her sleep. Hearing this news the first time was fine, but when it starts to dominate my bank holiday viewing that's when i get pissed off. Forget showing respect to the dead ~ her family can do that ~ would she care if i died?

She lived for 101 years, more than most people will so she couldn't really complain. Millions die everyday and there is no way to justify how she deserves any more respect than any of them. Simply because she's a famous figurehead does not mean we all have to be sad when she dies.
"This may sound harsh, but I don't care that she died, it doesn't affect me, I am not a monarchist, and I would be infinately more upset if my cat died."
all i can say is - thank god my cat is still alive.
