The Afternoon in a Bus Shelter After an afternoon of over cast cloud, at 7:12pm all hell let loose whilst i was sitting in the bus shelter outside of Tesco, Martlesham. I had not seen much of the day due to being inside the store from 10am this morning, this time the weather was particularly nice, sun to the north and blue sky to the south. I can see from inside the store the front car parking area which seemed to be in full sunlight for most of the morning and it was. During my lunch break i could see that the sun was covered by patchy cloud, yet the temperature was still high. After lunch i went out into the yard and collected a roll-cage and then saw the sky completely covered by a layer of dark grey cloud. Leaving the yard and entering the store rain started to spit and then i saw no more until leaving at 7:00pm. Leaving the store via the front door on saturdays has become a regualr thing now as i can see what the weather is like more clearly than leaving via the staff entrance. Today the weather was bad, the sky was black and still the temperature was very high. It hadn't been rainning recntly as the ground was dry again. I started to walk over to the bus-stop and small droplets of rain started to fall. I sat in the bus shelter. On entry to the shelter i noticed a small chinese women looking at the bus time table outside of the shelter, i entered the shelter and sat. Sorting out the change i had ready for when the bus arrived the chinese women also sat down. We sat in silence. The silence was not long as the weather turned to the dark side and then all hell broke out. The shelter started to be belted by hail stones, rain and loud claps of thunder and lightening. The hail rattled the whole bus shelter and as the wind became stronger, sprays of water started to enter the shelter. The rain and hail would slow down for a minute and then the next would be coming down like crazy. The bursts lasted for a good 10 minutes and the superoute was late by 5 minutes. The visabilty was very poor as the hail and rain combined, the image in front was just a blur. The rain ceased, the superoute pulled up and then i got onto the bus and headed for home. That was it.
