Interesting Rammifications:~ Thirteen ghosts has a plot that reads similarily to that of a standard 'haunted house' story, although this house has a totally different reason for being filled with ghosts. And filled it is. The 'Eccentric Uncle', has been capturing various ghostly apperitions in order to store them in the basement of his mansion. The Uncle kills himself and leaves the mansion to his Nephew, and his familly (Lawyer in center of familly - picture 4). The House:~ The familly quickly find out that the mansion is actually one big machine, with reinforced glass walls, and not simply a house. The machine's purpose is to open an eye into hell, as hell see's everything, past, present, and future. As soon as the lawyer attempts to steal the Uncles money, the machine locks down, closing large metal barriers over the shell of the house, locking everyone in. The twelve ghosts are then released one by one The Final Ghost:~ The final ghost required to keep the eye from destroying the world, must be the lover with the broken heart, to which description the nephew conveniantly fits when he realises that one of the ghosts is actually his dead wife. Get To The Point:~ The Film begins well, fairs well, and ends pointlessly. The special effects appear to drop off as the film goes on, and the story seems to loose all feasability after about an hour. It feels as if the producers ran out of budget, and so had to finish the film quickly and cheaply. Near the beggining, the lawyer is sliced in half lengthways however - so the action rating shall be given an extra 3 points. All in all, Randeh, Dr Shields, and I all seemed to enjoy the film. Near the beggining I felt an obvious buzz - as the movie physics allowed any person to be killed instantly, without any signs. In the end however - I remembered that they were actors, and so didn't really deserve to live anyway.
