Alton Towers Trip (2002) Extracts from my diary over the period of visiting Alton Towers for two days this summer. DAY 1 Today we travelled, we travelled fast - in fact we travelled too fast. The speed camera caught as at around 60-65% into the journey at precisely 82mph, which was quite ironic seeing as we'd just slowed down from cruisin' at over 100. We are currently in a one-storey shack in room 6, watching a bit of CNN Asia on the Phillips television. Ryan has made a brew, caffeine included but it's a bit too hot to drink, there is also some cookies strewn across the room and lighting is "ample". I've put the digital camera on 'recharge' and now it's time to sip on my beverage and take a stroll in the park.
DAY 2 Thanks to Ryan making coffee last night and me making myself a second one (black), it took longer than usual to get to sleep - also partly due to the first introduction of the 'name every girl in our year' game, which is played alternately and is won when one person cannot name a girl. Shields and Rawson were both called for assistence during the game, which I won on about lunchtime, which taught ryan a lesson he won't forget about premature celebration. So we made it to the park finally, Alton Towers, armed with digital camera to take pictures of girls, and our imaginations. Someone in a booth gave us some tickets and we were in. There was a strange ginger haired boy who we noticed straight away, purely because his girlfriend was stunning, so we took some pictures. He also had a younger brother, who just for the record had MASSIVE teeth, and as such seemed unable to keep them within his mouth. After that is was straight down to (the other) business, and straight to Nemesis where we ended up on the front row with two girls, but that is irrelevent, and so is any further details. After that the adrenaline was really flowing, we were ready for anything, so we went for the Haunted House, which was nice but not amazing, so we went round again, which was nice but not amazing, so we went round again. The third time was exactly like times 1 to 2, except this time we bought the in-ride photo of us looking very bored, i was asleep. It was hard to see how it could possibly get any better than that, and.. it didn't, there was some Air, and some pictures, some chicken and a monorail, then we left. Later on that evening, the woman locked us in the Little Chef, and couldn't find the key. We then retired as I could hardly walk and Ryan couldn't get any intelligent conversation out of me. I told him to be greatful for what he's got, and went to sleep. ![]() DAY 3 We gad tickets today that could get us in 30mins early from 9:00 AM, we arrived at 9:55 AM, genius. I reluctantly passed on my full english breakfast and went for the bacon and egg bap again - I could cope with that. We were then in the park, contemplating where we should go. We went places and we saw alot of nice girls, took pictures of them, and the ducks, and moved on. At the end of the day we travelled back in the Voyager, listening to minidiscs and half falling asleep, for it had been tiring and Ronnie Remo was but a memory now...
