The First Community War The first community war, aka Battle Royal, aka Friendly game of poker in the clubhouse has been brought to the local area. One dark halloween-infested thursday in October, four-fifths of the online net's crew and quite a few associates went down to the local 'laser king' for a hell of a gun fest. After all the frivilous chit-chat and the pressing of the button that makes the stupid noise, and pandy's game of pool and standing about we were in - Reds Vs. Greens:
Looking at the two lineups, we have to consider firstly the fact that the Red team is completely made up of Tesco employees. Whereas the Green team consists of 1 almost-tesco employee, 2 Mcdonalds workers, 1 laser king worker, 1 staples worker, Wayne and me, Jay: unemployed. The numbers game worked in favour of the greens however it could easily be argued that we also had handicaps, namely: Rawson. The games however told a different tale, the first game being unprecedented to say the least: pre-games favourite David 'Quarter Pounder' Randall coming in a shocking last place with the lowest score of the night - below 700. After a good break however, the 2nd game of 3 commenced which saw a much more realistic outcome as the Greens trounced the Red's with over twice as many points and a lot more sophistication. In the final decider, played in a blackout it was tense and we all knew it was going to be close. The Red team aka Tesco began with a cunning strategy of lying down (an illegal maneuver) on the upper deck and firing pot shots at the Greens as they entered the side of the arena. This didn't work for long however as they got pinned back behind some barrels, and the assault squad moved in to attack. The calls of 'I need anti-tank support!" and "they've got snipers" rang out in the arena, reminiscent of many battlefield games gone by. By the end everyone was out of energy to find out that in an extremely tight game the greens had won again, and snagged the match 2 - 1 overall. Vital Statistics:
