Greatest TON Personality: Jay Why you should vote for Jay, by Ryan
Born Justin King in June 1986, Crystal Palace (South-London), he has strived for success for himself and others. Not knowing that much about his childhood I cannot mention it that much. From what many others and I know, Justin, later better known as 'Jay' moved from one place to another before finally settling down with his family in Ipswich. A keen supporter of Ipswich Town, Jay can be found sitting in the upper section of Portman Roads Britannia Stand every home match. Win or lose, he will return to the next match as he is such a dedicated and loyal fan to the club he loves and once could have been playing for as he had/has great potential for playing at a professional level. This is backed up by the fact that as a youngster he had the opportunity for signing at youth level to Bristol City FC. This was not possible though as he was about to move away from the area and it would not have been possible for him to stay there alone at such a tender age. So himself and his family moved on. So when he finally came to settle in Ipswich, Jay joined Bucklesham primary school in year 4 (est.) and made friends with the one of the other nominees Robert Hendy, these 2 later became inseparable and a friendship blossomed. From what I know, Jay became a sporting athlete known throughout his primary school as in the first year he stole the 100m-sprint crown (actually around 80m Sprint due to the field not being long enough) from his new friend. This did not harm the friendship from what I've heard. Justin soon joined his local football team, Kirton Kestrels, and again his football career as a youngster was re-born. He played in a centre back position; he held the back 4 strong and played an essential role in his team. He scored many goals, some he described to me and sounded rather damn good. He was the main penalty taker for team and scored almost all of the kicks he was faced with having to take. Having played against Jay, I know that he was a well-respected and very, very good footballer. I remember my coach saying to our team "Watch out for there number nine, he's a tricky little feller with a lot of pace", he was referring to Jay. That's just a small example of how well known he had become for being a great footballer. So beyond the footballer there was another person, not just the athlete but a keen web page creator, developer and owner. Of course I am talking about The Online Net, Jay is the man who came up with the idea of creating TON. His ideas were simple, to create a site that had comedy, kept an eye on the comical and some serious elements of what was going on around the local area and not be a site that was going to be forgotten and never touched again after a couple of months of creation. This is clearly not the case; he has brought it from the 20th Century into the 21st Century creating quite a milestone. October 2000 was the month it all started and it is still up and running and undoubtedly the best it has ever been to the current date. Of course if it were not doing so well and not still being updated and edited to this date, this Personality vote would not be taking place. This man gave up his dream of being a professional footballer and dedicated more time to bringing you, this wonderful site we all take for granted. We look at it day to day and complain when it has not been updated, but can we really complain considering if he had not given up something he loved so much to bring you something that you couldn't live without in the lives you live. I leave that decision to you. I know I'm thankful for the online net, as without it there would be no LAN Central, No Community Football and No KENTs. Its just worth remembering these things when it comes to casting your vote.I personally think that the reasons I have mentioned are good enough reasons for you to vote for Jay as The Online Net, Greatest Personality Ever. It's now up to you, make your vote count, vote Jay. Written by Ryan |
