Morning View, Easter 2003: DAY 9

Kent is still doing his morning view review things, although I don't see one for today.. perhaps he has slept in, slept out or has just plain forgotten. Either way he better not overwrite this entry or I shan't be impressed. I have just finished updating about 30 pages on TON, including a complete overhaul of the archive layout to get them up to version 8 finally, there have also been edits to the about page, minor article changes and corrections and background images edited. One day I will get around to designing the Features page properly as well.

LAN Central has been updated behind the scenes, with changes to the attenders, guests and machines pages, as well as the hastily written story of JLANII. Davey Rand will update the main page next month, now that the new version is fully up and running.

Morning View, Easter 2003: DAY 1

" Every morning, between 6am and 11am i will be putting up the view from my (kents) desk showing an outlook of what the weather is to be like for hopefully, or maybe not for the rest of the day. Along with the photo will be a brief description of thoughts of the day in hand and how the weather may or may not affect it "

This feature will be occuring over the whole of the easter break (until the 28th April) and other than on the main page will also be found in the feautures section.

Finally, community football has been updated again for the 5th time this new season of 2003 and all the latest photos and news is all available. And remember everybody, creggors is back.

The 13 Second Reviews are launched.. for some reason

It's not original, and it's not all that interesting, but it only takes us (in theory) 169 seconds every time, and therefore it is easier to 'get stuck into'. '13 Second Reviews' will probably get updated at least twice a week, and possibly with more twists such as typing with the wrong hand, typing upside down, and typing without the keyboard.

If you looked at TON in the last day and a half, you were one of the lucky ones who caught a glimpse of Version 9.0 Alpha, which will be fourth quarter 2003 if the schedule works. Version 10 is also in the early stages of development, and will most likely be available offline only. Back to the present however...

...and there are no new articles, i'm currently in the middle of my rant for ihatemyself.org, which is one month into its three month deadline (not actually a deadline), so things are slow. There is currently a work in progress on a new page/section thing currently titled 'Amateur Philosophy' - which will contain the finest ideas this side of the orwell bridge. But other than that, we're pretty much being lazy and pre-occupied with upcoming exams and shit.

Randy gives birth to first article of 2003

The logging out article is the sequal to my original piece, a challenge from back in December. It was originally Hendrix who laid claim to the idea of writing a followup, but Randy took advantage of a dry spell and some friendly encouragement during 'just another free period' to get the job done.

Hendrix is currently in the middle of another Randall creation - the Unicycle challenge, about which more information shall come about in due course from the man himself. Also, now the Austria gallery is finished on 1000 I want to try and get the norfolk photos up, but sheer apathy and time requried is talking me out of it. It's turning out to be a slow year so far...

Austria 2003 Photo Gallery completed

I finally got around to the time-consuming task of finishing the Austria gallery, although some short-cuts are visible if you're paying attention. The other series' put on 1000 will most likely be done with less effort required and probably not to such depth. There are still the Norfolk pictures to cover, and Paris, and eventually all the LAN photos as well - they can wait.

Community Football happened again as well, but nothing much else.

Community Football returns for 2003

It's been a long time, but finally the fun and games have returned. Winter has all but left us now and as conditions and light begin to improve the camera is out again for the most awaited season so far. The first outing took place on Tuesday 11th March, and the pictures are now up on CF2003 thanks to Kent.

The old pictures are of course still available over at the newly titled: Community Football: Classic, and both new and old are accessible as usual through the Features page. Everything else on the site has been undergoing some minor tweaking, which is hard to notice unless you really pay attention. The menu has been tidied up and some of the layout and structuring has been improved leaving TON in probably the best condition it has ever been in. I also got around to fixing the 27 article errors, mostly to do with images gone missing which came about after the hosting was changed.

OK, so the updates to TON have been few and far between lately / this year and of course there are reasons for this. We've all been busy. Instead of sitting at home making parodies of sites run by people who only acknowledge our existence through laughter, we've been places. First it was Paris on a eurodisney trip (as seen in the photo above) and then Austria for a week skiing - both of these have produced far too many pictures to get online this quickly, and so most of the time I've bothered with updating stuff has been on 1000 with some of the Austria ones now available.

Then, of course, times we have been about here are probably more likely spent playing the local darts tournament matches, hitting the town, chilling at Rawson's pad, or actually doing some work. Not all of us can bask in the glory of being too stupid to get into sixth form. ihatemyself.org has something to say here.

Articles have and will dry up for a while, so just watch Wide Asleep for latest news and all that shit. Later.
