Who ate all the grapes? Wow, this is my first daytime update for a long, long time. With good reason, too! I wasn't sure whether the section would amount to much but thanks to Dave we have some sparkling new essays on offer. Naturally I don't expect any of you pagans to actually read them all, but in a way it's just nice to highlight that we've moved on from the days of articles like Jameson: Behind the Laughter and Stupid things to do when you're bored, albeit not very much. Yes, Jameson is still here! 101 things he wants to do before he dies, and some of them are actually very reasonable, which is something for us all to contemplate. I Just Want To Tape you, a lyric from an N.E.R.D. song, is an article without a purpose but with a few things worth remembering included in its dense and rich tapestry. Also, James concluded the series about his Uni visit, go read. Another update soon. Saturation on a Silver Platter I recently told a wideasleep.net admin that my only target for TON in 2005 was to publish more articles than in 2004, thus halting the current trend of less and less every year. So you say it's not about the number, that's right, but it's too early in this site's life for it to go into decline. The day I close up shop is the day I forget all the people who have worked together on various things on here. James has recently shown the spirit which keeps the flame burning, producing a 4-article series based on a single weekend. Despite drinking what sounds like a hell of a lot, he has a good memory to squeeze out that many words. I think together they have more references to homosexuality and male genetalia than all the other articles combined. Nice. I also wrote my second part about Cinema so far this year. It's crazy, we need a break. Back in 3 months then? Phew. Spinning Discs, Spinning Discs In a turn up for the books, we have a second update within 8 days. Not only that but James Davey has come out of retirement to tell us all what's on his mind right now. There's also the first chapter in the Chess 500 series, which should prove to be an easy series to write seeing as we're currently only playing 10 games a year. I couldn't honestly say what is coming next, but the discs keep on spinning and the vault of memories continues to grow. Keep checking back here, one day you might want to remember the events and ideas, dreams and horrors contained within these articles. I can't think of any other purpose for them. 3 month break concludes Some people said the site was finished, and for a while, they had a point. When interest in TON was at its peak in 2002, we had articles flying in from all directions on a weekly basis. New writings were uploaded quickly and discussed the next day at sixth form and in homes across the land. With new times comes new distractions and with that; less focus on exhibiting such material so frequently. Whilst it would stand alone with its vault of memories, it's time to keep pushing this old steel train. I'm going to try and come up with something new and stop neglecting the front page. There is a new article which was never uploaded after it was written, and of course it's almost that time again to see who will win the TON Premiership Predictions - the smart money is on yours truly.
