All right - it seems that you lot all hate Macs (Macintosh, Apple Mac,
Apple-maco-super-spaco) and so you think you deserve the right to 'bash'
them. You poor fools... I to use the Windows - but mostly to escape out
of as soon as iv seen that boring beige box sitting there. But neway - to
keep those Mac haters happy - there will be Mac bashing later on - although
I shall be blatantly dishonest.
What is it you dislike? Is it their colourful humour - that brightens the
office? Is it their magnificent speed that boasts an 867mhz machine equal
to a P4 1.4ghz? Or is it the fact that they are so unbelievably easy to
use that they only require one mouse button to operate them.
No - the only single disadvantage to a Mac is that there are only a few
software titles in the 'games' category that you can use on them. They are
faster, cheaper, more reliable and generally far better than their PC
rivals. Had it not been for Apples poor judgement in the early '80's - then
Macs would be outselling PC's for sure.
The owner of Microsoft - bill gates started off working in a garage with the
owners of Apple computer. This was when they were REAL software designers.
No big studios. No budget. Just a couple of business minded people making
their computers in their garage.
And back to apples judgement issues. Macintoshes are only ever made by
apple - thus guaranteeing their reliability. ANY software ever made for an
apple computer will always work on ANY apple computer. This means that they
are great for developers and businesses alike. However with PC's and
reliability - where do I start.
.Probably.. Here? - Yeah tis'l do.
As I was saying - PC's are unbelievably unreliable compared to the ol' Mac.
And as for all software working with all PC's - Macs were at an equivalent
stage at Mac OS 8 - in 97! And still the PC is touchy. If my Mac is being
a bitch - as all Computers do once in a while - I threaten her (and I use
her as I'm quite touched by my computer). I tell her that she will fly out
of the window. And just like that - bang my essay is written* and we are
both happy,
The coolest thing about my iMac has got to be its voice recognition. I mean
- I say 'tell me a joke' only 7 times - and it eventually spews "knock
knock" before getting bored - opening up iTunes and falling into its sleep
cycles.
Sooo - the Mac bashing that you asked for:
Macs can be expensive if you go for a 'super computer' - i.e. over 1
gigaflop - the universal term for supercomputers (means 1 billion operations
per second)
Macs are generally useless for software - although this is getting better
and all the good software is sold and supported for the Mac.
The Mac forums (
www.apple.com) are full of people with Barbie's stuck In
there CD-ROM drives. I.e. - the American children don't understand slot
loading..
Macs sadly use some windows software - That's bad enough to bin them all - I
mean - Microsoft!!!
Well - that's all I could think of - if ure to stupid to understand a
1-button mouse - then the chances are you wouldn't have read this far on
(Alan'est Edkins'eh)
So - some stupid peoples miss conceptions about Macs.
TRL - The Rocket Launcher.co.uk.
"If you didn't know, Macs crash a hell of a lot more than their PC comrades."
